Peer Support Canada
Document Design
Peer Support Canada provides training for people with lived experience of mental health challenges to support others through their peer support certification program. Their national Certification Handbook consists of knowledge, competencies, experience and codes of conduct to effectively provide peer support services. I designed and organized a creative publication to bring their vision to life.
The Back Story
Readability and ease of use were important for this document, as it will primarily be used digitally and contains large quantities of text.
The final result features bold and distinct colours, organic line drawings and illustrated icons to reduce reader fatigue and bring in that sense of connection.
The Design Process
The Final Product
Take a look at the final design.
"Working with Alex was comfortable, quick, and informative. She guided us through the process of understanding exactly what type of a vibe we were looking for within our strategic plan, provided us with options, and was very understanding and accommodating as we tweaked the design and material included within the plan. Alex was responsive and worked easily with the timelines that we provided her with. We would definitely work with Alex again on projects in the future."
